Held in Stillness was born from a quiet contemplation of the strength, grace, and vulnerability we all carry within us. As I painted her, I was drawn to the tension between what is seen and what is felt — her turned back an open invitation for the viewer to step into their own emotions, their own memories, their own story.

The flowing red dress was a deliberate choice. Red, for passion. For resilience. For the fire that burns quietly in all of us, even in our most still moments.

This piece is about the beauty found in pausing. About the courage it takes to simply be — unhurried, unguarded, held in a moment that belongs entirely to you.
