There are moments when we learn to protect ourselves...layer by layer. This painting was inspired by the artichoke - strong and guarded on the outside yet unexpectedly tender at its centre.

As I painted, I realized how much it mirrored the human heart. We all carry layers shaped by experience, love, loss, and resilience. Yet beneath them remains softness... the part of ourselves that still longs to be seen, understood, and loved.

This piece is about vulnerability and strength existing together. About protecting the heart without hardening it completely. And if you take a chance and peel back the layers, you will discover that a tender heart quietly waits.
